Homework Guide
Spellings:
Spellings will be set on Fridays and tested the following Friday. Spelling lists and scores will be posted on Seesaw. Please practise your child’s spellings at home regularly.
Reading:
Children are expected to read every day at home. Each Friday children are asked to return any books they have read and a new banded book can be chosen to take home to read over the week. A member of staff will check the use of Active Learn - Bug Club on a weekly basis to reward dojo points. Library day in Year 4 is a Wednesday, children will be encouraged to choose a book from our school library to take home and enjoy and return it to exchange for a new book the following Wednesday.
Times Tables:
In Summer term all Year 4 children will be completing a statutory Multiplication Times Table Check. In order to prepare for this all children in Year 4 need to regularly practise all times tables (up to 12x12).
Your child will be set times tables homework weekly on MyMaths and will be asked to use The Maths Factor to complete the times tables check regularly.
Interactive Homework Projects:
Termly interactive homework projects will also be set and then displayed in school the following half term for children to exhibit to parents. Keep your eyes peeled for information about these projects!
