October 2017 - The first meeting of the year
On Monday 2nd October Pupil Parliament came together for their first meeting of the year. The meeting took place at Ormskirk Council Chambers and Pupil Parliament were joined by the Mayor, Cllr Neil Furey.
Year 6 representatives gave speeches on ‘Why I want to be the next Prime Minister’ before the polling station opened for each member to vote for the new Prime Minister.
Congratulations to members from Brookfield Park, St Thomas the Martyr and St Richards who are the new Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary.
Our Pupil Parliament representatives visited Preston Council Chambers
On Monday 19th June, our Pupil Parliament representative visited Preston Council Chambers and met the Mayor and Mayoress of Preston, Brian and Trisha Rollo.
We had a tour of the council chambers and Mayor’s Parlour and listened to a very detailed talk about the history of the building, the Mayor’s role and what happens in the Council Chambers.
