Meet the Staff

22nd June 2018

Dear Parents,

I'd like to take this opportunity to record what a fantastic year it has been at St. John's. We've achieved success in all curriculum areas and in all year groups - something to be proud of for everyone from the arts, cultural enrichments, musical extravaganzas, dance festivals and sporting success at all levels.

At the end of term we say goodbye to Miss Rimmer who has worked at St. John’s for three years now. She is moving on to teach in the hotter and much sunnier climes of Dubai; as you all know she loves the sun so it’s certainly a perfect location for her! We will miss her but I’m sure you will join with me in wishing her good luck in her future teaching career; hopefully she will come back to visit us in the not too distant future, telling us all about her adventures!  We are also saying goodbye to Mrs. Atkinson who is having a baby in the Autumn term. We wish her and her family good luck over the coming weeks and months. What an exciting time for them all!

Two new members of staff start with us in September Miss Dawson and Miss Gore. They are incredibly excited to be joining St. John's and will be working over the holiday period like existing staff to get ready for their new classes in September. They of course will be in school this term meeting the children and talking to the leadership team, Catherine and existing teachers about the children in each of the classes, so they can hit the ground running in September.

Classes for September 2018 are as follows:

Nursery:          Mrs. Earles

Reception:       Mrs. Bayliss

Year 1:            Miss. Gore

Year 2:            Miss. Proffitt

Year 3:            Miss. Dawson

Year 4:            Mrs. Gaskell

Year 5:            Miss. Derome

Year 6:            Mrs. Morris / Mrs. Green

Mrs. Earles who starts the school year in Nursery (a year group she has had before and likes very much) will be leaving to start her maternity leave at the end of October. We wish her and her family much happiness over the coming weeks and months! I know she is incredibly excited! Miss Curley will be taking over from Mrs. Earles in Nursery after October half-term. She too is eager to join the school teaching team and to get to know the children and their families. She has said that this is her perfect job, in fact her dream job; so I know she is enthusiastic to get started!

Finally, I'd like to thank parents for supporting us in all that we do to help our children achieve their potential. We couldn't do it without such a strong home school partnership - long may it continue!

Anyone wishing to enrol their child / children into St. John's need to contact the school office or telephone 01695 721323 / email office@st-johnsrc.lancs.sch.uk.  We have a limited number of places in all year groups so if you know of anyone requiring a place, please encourage them to contact the school.

Yours sincerely,

A. Aspinwall - Livesey
