Keeping Children Safe

What the school provides

  • Risk assessments are carried out dependent upon individual circumstances.
  • EVC coordinator oversees all risk assessments
  • Health and safety audits occur annually
  • School subscribe to Lancashire County Council property services and are thus compliant with the regulations set by LCC
  • Playground inspection is carried out annually
  • Class teachers complete assessments for class trips
  • SENCo completes risk assessments for SEND children if and when required.
  • Arrivals at school is via the main entrance, through staffed gates and into secure, locked covered area adjacent to each class door. The children are greeted each morning by the learning mentor and a member of the management team.
  • Disabled car parking is available in the main car park.
  • Breakfast club is available for children to attend all children are welcomed by staff and safely taken to classes at the start of the school day.
  • School operates a staggered start to the school day starting at 8.45am.
  • School site is secured throughout the day all gates are locked using a number code.
  • Certain areas in school are security fobbed and there is a locked foyer.
  • Access to the school is via a buzzer to the main office.
  • A password system is in place for notification during the school day of different adult collecting children from nursery to Year 2.
  • Policies for anti bullying, attendance, child protection and behaviour are all available on the school website.
