Welcome to Year 5!

Important information

Homework is given out, via DB primary and bug club activities, on a Friday to be completed by the following Thursday.

Spellings will go out on Fridays and children will be tested on Fridays.

Reading books can be changed daily once children have read with an adult at home and the blue book has been signed. Children are able to select their own book. The aim is for children to read 4 pages of their home reading book every night.

PE is on a Friday please ensure children have their kits in on these days and earrings are taken out.

This half term children will need their swimming kits on Mondays.

Toast is available playtime at 10p a slice.
Don’t forget to complete My Maths activities and bug club reading at least once per week!

Year 5 learnt a class poem off by heart called ‘The Seas’.

Our collective worship on the topic ‘Ourselves’

This collective worship was planned by Ella, Reileigh, Angel and Nathan and they led the class in reflecting in good qualities God gives us to be peacemakers.

Anglo Saxon Tatton Park trip!

Year 5 had a fabulous experience at Tatton Park where they lived the life of an Anglo Saxon! We cooked bread with resources which the Anglo Saxons would have had, weaved to make braids, learnt how they would battle as warriors and discovered animals they hunted!


In Year 5, we have been working with our sports coach to develop our rugby skills and agility.
