Welcome to St John's Catholic Primary School

My name is Angela Aspinwall-Livesey and I have the real privilege to be Executive Headteacher of St. John’s Catholic Primary School. Visitors to St. John’s comment on the warm welcome they receive and the friendly atmosphere that exists. I believe this is because:

►  Our children are stunning! Wonderful children to be proud of, who show respect for each other and take a pride in both themselves and their environment.

► Our staff are fantastic! Adults who value our children and their families, who work hard to provide rich and fulfilling experiences which enable our children to be happy, confident and successful.

At St. John’s we have the highest of expectations of ourselves and of what our children can achieve. We strive to inspire, enthuse and motivate all children to develop a lifelong love of learning. We value each child as an individual and provide opportunities through our creative curriculum and our out of hours study support for all children to excel in areas where they have a special talent whether this is in sport, drama, art, music or through involvement in our pupil councils.

St. John’s has an excellent reputation both locally and Lancashire wide and we are extremely proud of our achievements. Our most recent Ofsted (2017) states we are a ‘good’ school with many ‘outstanding features’ and our Section 48 Religious Education Inspection (2012) states ‘we are an outstanding Catholic school’.

At St. John’s working and playing hard, interspersed with much fun and laughter is our recipe for a happy and successful school. I do hope that you will find the time to check out our website to see what we get up to on a daily basis.

If you would like to contact me, or would like to arrange a visit please do so through the school office 01695721323 or by email head@st-johnsrc.lancs.sch.uk. I look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful school.

Breaking News!

On Monday 11th February we came to school and discovered there was something very unusual on the grounds of St John's. Mrs Aspinwall-Livesey quickly consulted Governors, scientists and a palaeontologist to come and assess the findings. It was confirmed that it is infact a dinosaur egg and we have been set the task of producing information for the museum to use in their exhibition on dinosaurs. The Police and Site Manager (Mr Williams) removed the egg carefully to be taken to the museum for further research.
